Amnon Shashua, founder and CEO of Mobileye, will resign from his leadership role after nearly 30 years, as the company advances into robotaxis and robotics. He will remain in the position until a successor is appointed, according to a regulatory filing. Mobileye has evolved from a chip supplier to a player in autonomous driving systems, recently acquiring a robotics startup to enhance its capabilities.
The company, which went public again in 2022 after being acquired by Intel in 2017, plans to launch its own robotaxi service in a U.S. city by 2027. Shashua's transition to chairman of the board marks a significant shift as Mobileye embarks on its next phase of growth.
