Leeds United has reached an agreement to sign Swiss defender Nico Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach for £8.5 million. The deal includes an initial fee of £6.8 million, with additional performance-related add-ons. Elvedi is set to undergo a medical examination on Monday as he prepares to leave the Bundesliga after 11 years.
The 29-year-old brings significant experience, having made 364 appearances for Monchengladbach and earned 73 caps for Switzerland, including participation in the recent World Cup. This transfer may facilitate a loan move for Leeds defender Sebastiaan Bornauw to Hamburg.
