A 23-year-old Latvian man has been extradited to the UK and charged with causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the hit-and-run incident that killed 12-year-old Keaton Slater in June 2024. The man, identified as Aleksanders, was taken into custody upon his arrival and is scheduled to appear in Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Keaton was struck by a black BMW while walking home from school in Coventry. Following the incident, authorities initiated extradition efforts after naming Aleksanders as a person of interest. Collaboration between British and Latvian officials facilitated his return to face legal proceedings in the UK.
