Jon Rahm holds a one-shot advantage heading into the final round of the Abu Dhabi Championship after a strong third round of 6-under 66. Rory McIlroy, who had been tied for the lead, fell to fourth place following a bogey on the 17th hole, finishing the day at 67 with a notable double-bogey earlier in the round.
Rahm's total score of 18-under 198 puts him ahead of Tyrrell Hatton and Francesco Laporta, both at 17-under. The tournament is part of a two-week playoff series on the European tour, with top players vying for positions in the upcoming finals in Dubai.
As the final round unfolds, keep an eye on Rahm's ability to maintain his lead under pressure. McIlroy's recovery from his earlier mistakes will be crucial, especially as he aims for a strong finish to secure his ranking. The playoff implications for Dubai add extra stakes.
