A collection of guitars owned by Johnny Marr, the guitarist of The Smiths, sold for approximately £3.65 million at a recent auction. The sale, conducted by Christie's, featured instruments used by Marr during his time with the band and included items like amplifiers and gold discs. The auction attracted bidders from 34 countries and exceeded initial estimates by more than three times.
One notable sale was Marr's 1982 Rickenbacker 330 Jetglo, which sold for £358,400. The proceeds from the auction will benefit two charities, highlighting Marr's influence in music and his commitment to social causes.
