Jeffrey Donaldson, the former leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, has been stripped of his knighthood by the King following his conviction on 18 counts of child sex abuse. Donaldson had requested the forfeiture of his honor after being found guilty by a jury in June.
The Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood confirmed the annulment of his title, which was originally conferred in June 2016. Donaldson has also been removed from the Privy Council and is currently appealing his convictions, with a hearing expected in the coming months.
