Exein, an Italian startup focused on cybersecurity for physical AI, has secured $270 million in funding led by Headline, achieving a valuation of $1.7 billion. The company aims to provide self-defending capabilities for devices, regardless of their network security status, with its latest product, Photon, designed to prevent kernel-level attacks.
Since its founding in 2018, Exein has partnered closely with manufacturers to address the rising threat of machine-speed attacks. Its valuation has surged significantly, and it is poised to benefit from the EU's Cyber Resilience Act, which mandates enhanced cybersecurity measures for digital products by December 2027.
