The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has expressed interest in Pep Guardiola as a candidate for the national team head coach position. Giovanni Malago, FIGC president, mentioned that financial exceptions have been made to facilitate Guardiola's potential appointment, following his departure from Manchester City after a successful tenure.
Other candidates for the role include Roberto Mancini, who previously led Italy to victory in Euro 2020, and Andrea Pirlo. The vacancy arose after Gennaro Gattuso resigned due to Italy's failure to qualify for consecutive tournaments.
