Detroit startup Grounded has raised $5 million in seed funding to enhance its vehicle customization services for small businesses. Originally focused on electric vans for the van-life community, the company has pivoted to accommodate both electric and gas-powered vehicles following significant changes in the EV market. Grounded plans to utilize a new 50,000-square-foot facility to scale its modular design capabilities.
The startup has already attracted a diverse clientele, including companies in commercial, medical, and public safety sectors. Grounded's approach allows it to adapt to market demands, particularly as it embraces gas-powered models alongside electric options, positioning itself as a versatile player in the vehicle customization space.
