Gateshead has dismissed manager Lee Cattermole after a disappointing start to the National League season, with the team currently at the bottom of the table. Cattermole, who joined the club just four months ago, managed only one win in 14 matches, culminating in a seventh consecutive loss following a defeat to Worthing.
The club is also facing financial difficulties, as majority shareholder Mark Nellist has resigned and plans to transfer his shares to director Stephen Paylor, pending regulatory approval. Players and staff have not received their September wages, raising concerns about the club's financial stability.
