A significant fire has erupted at a waste facility on Landmann Way in Bermondsey, south-east London, with around 100 firefighters responding to the scene. The blaze, which began shortly before 20:00 BST, involved approximately 50 tonnes of household waste and has generated considerable smoke, prompting local residents to keep their windows and doors closed.
Fire crews from various stations are working to control the fire, which is expected to be a prolonged incident. The cause remains unknown, although firefighters had previously responded to a fire at the same location in June.
