In a Nations League match held in Rijeka, England showcased a dominant performance, defeating Croatia 5-0. Jude Bellingham stood out, scoring twice and contributing significantly to the team's fluid play. However, the match was marred by controversy as the Croatian Football Association allowed 6,000 children to attend despite a ban on adult fans due to racism issues, raising questions about UEFA's commitment to addressing racism in football.
The game highlighted the stark contrast between England's high-quality play and the troubling atmosphere surrounding the event. While England's team displayed modern football prowess, the presence of children in the stands amid a serious racism sanction sent a confusing message about the ongoing challenges within the sport.
