Destro, a newly launched startup, has secured $8 million in seed funding to develop an AI intelligence layer that enhances the efficiency of logistics operations without relying on traditional robotics. By directing both robots and human workers, Destro aims to streamline processes like cross-docking, which involves sorting goods for delivery.
The company is expanding its pilot program with Yusen Logistics, moving from three to 26 robots in one facility and initiating another pilot with 17 robots in Southern California. Destro's approach contrasts with typical robotics firms by focusing on software solutions rather than hardware development.
