A group involved in a personal protective equipment scam during the Covid-19 pandemic misappropriated hundreds of thousands of pounds, spending on luxury cars, watches, and home renovations. Key figures, including Jogesh Bhandari, were found guilty of fraudulent activities related to the supply of nitrile gloves, with significant sums diverted from intended purchases.

The National Crime Agency reported that the defendants used forged documents and a fraudulent escrow service to facilitate their scheme, which began in late 2020. They are scheduled for sentencing on August 21, 2023.
