Cove Rangers have been hit with a season-long registration ban by the SPFL due to breaches related to a historic contractual payment to a player. The club also failed to inform the league of its default on this payment and provided incorrect information regarding overdue payables.
The sanctions include a registration embargo lasting until May 2027 and a fine of £5,000, of which £2,000 is suspended. The club has expressed disappointment with the severity of the penalties and is currently evaluating its options.
