The Chrysler Building in Manhattan will be renovated following a multi-million-dollar sale to developer Tishman Speyer. The project includes restoring the iconic Art Deco crown and upgrading the 61st floor, which features eagle gargoyles and a new lounge.
Tishman Speyer plans to convert most of the building into office space, addressing the low availability of offices in the area. The renovation is part of a broader strategy to enhance the building's appeal and support the Cooper Union's educational initiatives through lease payments.
Watch for the impact of the Chrysler Building's renovation on local office space dynamics, especially as Tishman Speyer aims to address the area's low availability. The restoration of its iconic features may also attract tourism and enhance the building's historical significance.
