China has issued a warning regarding a barrier lake formed by a recent landslide near the Nepal-Tibet border, indicating a high risk of breaching that could lead to a second flood downstream. This follows a deadly flash flood in the area, which was triggered by a glacier collapse, resulting in significant loss of life and missing persons.
As of Friday, approximately 2.5 million cubic meters of water have accumulated in the lake, with expectations of an additional three million cubic meters entering it soon. Rescue operations have been suspended due to the ongoing threat of flooding, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
