The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church has rejected claims that it funded far-right activists to stage political stunts targeting Australian politicians, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. During a parliamentary inquiry, church director Lloyd Grimshaw labeled the allegations as false and stated that the church did not support any political parties or coordinate volunteer efforts for the election.
Grimshaw acknowledged that some church members volunteered for local candidates but emphasized that these actions were not organized by the church. He also criticized the treatment of church members at polling booths, describing instances of verbal abuse related to their involvement in the election.
