Roger Johnson, a presenter for BBC North West Tonight, faced a setback in his running challenge for Children in Need due to a foot injury. Unable to complete the 41km goal himself, he reached out to colleagues for support. Over 30 staff members responded, collectively running more than 160 miles to help raise funds for the charity.
The initiative highlights the spirit of collaboration and community that Children in Need embodies, as colleagues came together to exceed the original target. Johnson reflected on the importance of collective efforts in fundraising and the personal lessons learned from the experience.
Watch for how this collaborative effort influences future fundraising initiatives at BBC North West. The success of this challenge may inspire similar team-based events, fostering a culture of support and community engagement within the organization and beyond.
