Apple has introduced the M6 chip, its first 2nm processor, alongside the M5 Ultra, touted as the company's most powerful chip to date. The M6 features a 12-core CPU and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, promising significant improvements in performance and power efficiency, particularly for AI tasks and 3D rendering.
The M5 Ultra utilizes UltraFusion technology to combine two M5 Max chips, resulting in a quad-die architecture with a 36-core CPU and an 80-core GPU. Both chips will be available in new Mac models, with preorders starting soon ahead of their September 22nd release.
